Barrhead Travel has received notification from ABTA that Seguro Holidays has ceased trading.
Seguro Holidays held an ATOL bond with the CAA and as such customer's money is protected.
Barrhead Travel has set up Seguro Customer Help Desk Numbers: 0141 242 8598 or 0141 242 8599.
Barrhead Travel is working with major tour operators to secure additional holidays - more information will be made available shortly
Thursday, 11 September
Seguro customers not yet travelled are asked to go into to any Barrhead Travel branch to arrange alternative holidays or refunds.
Barrhead Travel will assist all our customers complete the necessary documentation.
Customers in resorts will be contacted by a representative of Seguro. The CAA is responsible for repatriating all overseas customers and this is being organised.
Friday, 12 September
Barrhead Travel today received notification that The Excel Holiday Group has ceased trading. The Excel Group held an ATOL bond with the CAA and as such customers covered by this bond’s money is protected.

UPDATE for Clients currently in Resort:
SEGURO, EXCEL HOLIDAYS, FREEDOM FLIGHTS, KOSMAR and MEDLIFE clients who booked through Barrhead Travel and are currently overseas should contact:
Barrhead Travel on +44 141 242 8598 or +44 141 242 8599 for the latest information on your return flights. We are trying to contact all passengers, however this may prove difficult under the current circumstances.
The Civil Aviation Authority has also published a help line number for those returning clients affected by the tour operator failures. +44 2891 856547.
Monday, 15 September
The following documents will be required from the client before the claim can be sent to the CAA:
- • If paid by cash we need a copy of the declaration of cash payments for each cash payment over £500 (as per above section)
- • If paid by cheque we need the original cleared cheque which the clients can get from their bank or a photocopy of both sides of the cleared cheque or a letter from the bank/building society confirming the account holders name, amount paid, payee and date of clearance.
- • If paid by credit/debit card we need a copy of the credit card statement or bank statement showing the transaction. This must confirm the payment, the account number and the name of the account holder. Sales slips or ATM statements cannot be accepted.
It is also a requirement that you provide a written guarantee that the required documents will be provided to Barrhead Travel within 1 week of the today’s date , or if you are to depart on holiday within 7 days, within 7 days of your return from holiday.
